How to Use Forgiveness to Claim Answers to Our Prayers

Today, we are going to look at a major reason why we do not receive answers to our petitions when we have prayed for them. All the scriptures we shall look at will relate to this very issue that has continued to block us from receiving our blessing on a daily basis.

The real reason we are not getting what we want from God is UNFORGIVENESS. The bible stated clearly that if we do not forgive, our Heavenly Father will not forgive us. And if our Heavenly Father does not forgive us, how will He listen to our request.According to our Lord Jesus Christ, when he taught his disciples how to pray, he said they should direct their prayers to God Almighty in His name. Is that not so? In the middle of that prayer, Jesus revealed the secret to answer to prayers. Read Matthew 6:12.” And forgive us our wrong-doings, as we have forgiven those who have wronged us;(TCNT).This is a very strong statement from Jesus. The simple meaning is that if we do not forgive others, God will not forgive us. Remember, we pray every day for forgiveness without considering those we need to forgive for one reason or the other. Read Matthew 6:14-15 carefully. This is one aspect of the condition for receiving.

The second aspect of the condition to receive answers to our prayers starts with the promise God made. God said He will grant our heart’s desires when we believe we have received what we ask for. But this believing we are to exhibit is equally tied to a condition. To further explain why it is necessary to forgive in order to have showers of blessing in our daily living, we need to study deeply Mark 11:23-24. "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you will have them. There is a condition attached to believing to receive if only we endeavor to read the next two verses. Let us now read Mark 11:25-26. 25 "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses.”But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses. "This scripture says: if you have anything against anyone, you must forgive that person before you continue with that prayer request. The mountain will not move until you forgive; the problem you want solved will remain unless you are ready to let go past offences against you. The bible says so, and I believe what the bible says.

Now, in what ways have people hurt or offended you? Did they betray us? Did they lie against us? Did they gossip us? Did they owe us and refused to pay? Did they refuse to help us at a critical stage of our life or as we were growing up? It does not matter what they did, you must forgive them. That is what God says. The bible confirms it. So what are you waiting for?

How do we forgive? Do we go to the person or how? The answer is in the scriptures. Read John 20:23. "If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained."

The problem most of us have has nothing to do with looking here and there for miracles.God has stated a condition which has to be met.Without meeting that condition, you are disobeying your Heavenly Father. And like i always say,"it's not a good thing to have God as your enemy."We must walk according to God's dictates because He know the beginning from the end and Jesus knows us all.He was at a point human too.

Try to forgive and Let go.Ask for forgiveness if you need to.

Forgiveness is an utterance of the lips. You decide to forgive and say it out loud to yourself. The process of forgiveness is done. The good Book stated that we should follow peace with all men and holiness without which no man shall see God.Hebrews 12:14.The Best Selling Book also stated that we not regard iniquity in our heart because if we do God will not hear us. Mention as many people as you want forgiveness from.
God bless you as you practice this eternal truth from Jesus Christ.
